Chef Saravudh "Tom" Sarrtsud
A Bangkok-native, Chef Saravudh "Tom" Sarrtsud took an unconventional path to Thai Cuisine...he was actually trained in French technique and came to learn Thai cooking through his partner and wife, Laddavan. After opening and running their own restaurant, Ladda Thai in Warner Robins, Tom and Ladda partnered with a local business couple to establish Lemongrass...a thai bistro in beautiful Downtown Macon.
Chef Sarrtsud toiled and trained in the kitchens of New York City rising in 15 years from a dishwasher to a 4-year stint as the Executive Chef of the 4-Star InterContinental Hotel. Along the way Tom was always learning...taking positions in various ethnic restaurants the city had to offer. Besides French and Thai, our chef has trained in Fine Italian, Middle Eastern, Kosher and Nouveau American kitchens.
This versatility has allowed Lemongrass to offer not only traditional Thai dishes, but Thai Fusion and beautiful non-Thai specialties as well. From our old-school classic Crispy Duck a'la Orange to our Kaffir Lime leaf and Thai chili Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes, Tom's years of experience shine through.
One of Tom's favorite meals is brunch, a brigade he led for years at the InterContinental, and his Sunday Brunch at the Lemongrass is beyond compare! We are proud to bring Chef Sarrtsud to Macon!
