Thai Cuisine
At Lemongrass we are proud of the extensive use of fresh ingredients and hours of hand prep that goes into every one of our dishes. At a time when more and more restaurants are resorting to pre-prepared frozen products and inexperienced cheap labor, we continue to stress quality over all other factors. The result is bright, fresh, flavorful dishes that have won the hearts of Macon foodies!
Thai cuisine places emphasis on lightly-prepared dishes with strong aromatic components. While Thai cuisine is known for being spicy...it is really balance, detail and variety that are at the center of Thai cooking. The cuisine is known for its balance of the five fundamental taste senses in each dish or the overall meal: hot (spicy), sour, sweet, salty, and (optional) bitter.
To accomodate the American palate the chefs at Lemongrass serve its dishes as they come in Thailand, with a variety of sauces (nam chim) and condiments. These may include phrik nam pla/nam pla phrik (consisting of fish sauce, lime juice, chopped chilies and garlic), dried chili flakes, sweet chili sauce, sliced chili peppers in rice vinegar, or sriracha sauce. Ask your server for your favorite and please spice to your level of tolerance!
